JoynerVu — Content Restrictions Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 Last Updated: January 1, 2026 Service Area: United States

1. Purpose

This Content Restrictions Policy ("Policy") identifies the categories of content that are prohibited from display on the JoynerVu mobile out-of-home advertising platform, and the creative restrictions that apply to all advertising content ("Creative") submitted by Advertisers. This Policy supplements and is incorporated into the JoynerVu Advertising Policy and the Advertiser Agreement. Joyner reserves the right to reject or remove any Creative that violates this Policy, at any time and without prior notice.

2. Absolutely Prohibited Content

The following content categories are prohibited on JoynerVu under all circumstances and will not be approved regardless of market, context, or Advertiser identity:

  • Adult and sexually explicit content: Nudity, sexually explicit imagery, pornography, or content that is sexually suggestive in a manner inappropriate for general public audiences, including children who may view vehicle-mounted screens
  • Content harmful to minors: Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or is otherwise harmful to individuals under 18 years of age
  • Hate speech and discrimination: Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites hatred, violence, or discrimination against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Violence and graphic content: Graphic depictions of violence, gore, injury, death, or cruelty — whether real or simulated — that would be inappropriate for general public display
  • Illegal products and services: Advertising for products, services, or activities that are illegal under applicable federal law, including federally controlled substances, illegal weapons, counterfeit goods, and unauthorized financial services
  • Malware and deceptive technology: Content designed to install malware, phishing schemes, or any deceptive technology (not applicable to display advertising, included for completeness)
  • Terrorism and extremism: Content that promotes, glorifies, or recruits for terrorist organizations, violent extremist groups, or acts of mass violence
  • Human trafficking: Content that facilitates, promotes, or exploits human trafficking in any form
  • Unauthorized use of third-party intellectual property: Content that uses third-party trademarks, logos, copyrighted images, or recognizable individuals without appropriate authorization, releases, and licenses
  • Defamatory content: Content that makes false statements of fact about identifiable individuals or organizations that would constitute defamation under applicable law

3. Prohibited Creative Techniques

The following creative techniques are prohibited on JoynerVu regardless of content category:

  • Strobing and flashing effects: Rapidly flashing or strobing visual effects at a frequency exceeding 3 Hz, which pose a photosensitivity and seizure risk to viewers
  • Simulated emergency signals: Visual or audio content that mimics emergency vehicle lights, sirens, traffic signals, or law enforcement signals in a manner that could confuse or distract drivers
  • Excessive brightness: Creative with brightness levels that exceed JoynerVu's maximum luminosity specifications and that could temporarily blind or distract drivers or pedestrians
  • Directional arrows or signals: Creative that uses directional arrows, traffic signal imagery, or other visual elements that could be mistaken for actual traffic control devices
  • Countdown timers: Countdown timers or urgency indicators that could cause drivers to make unsafe decisions (e.g., running a light to reach a "limited time" offer)
  • Realistic crash or accident imagery: Simulated vehicle crash, accident, or collision footage that could distract or alarm drivers when displayed on a moving vehicle

5. Content Involving Real People

Creative that includes the name, likeness, voice, or image of any identifiable real person — including celebrities, public figures, and private individuals — must be accompanied by valid written releases, consents, or licenses authorizing the use of that person's identity in advertising. Joyner may require Advertiser to provide copies of such releases before approving Creative. Creative that uses a real person's identity in a false, misleading, or defamatory manner is prohibited regardless of whether a release exists.

6. Competitive Advertising

Comparative advertising that references or depicts Joyner's own services, brand, or competitors is subject to prior written approval from Joyner's marketing team. Comparative claims must be truthful, substantiated, and not misleading. Joyner reserves the right to decline comparative advertising that it determines, in its sole discretion, is disparaging to Joyner or its services.

7. Reporting Prohibited Content

If you observe content displayed on a JoynerVu screen that you believe violates this Policy or applicable law, please report it to vu@myjoyner.com with a description of the content and the vehicle or location where you observed it. Joyner will investigate all good-faith reports promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

Joyner may update this Policy at any time. Changes apply to new IOs and Creative submissions after the effective date of the update. Advertisers with active campaigns will be notified of material changes that affect their current Creative.
