Email Security Notice — What Service Providers Need to Know

Joyner has this under control. Our Enterprise Technology team is actively working to resolve this issue and has already taken steps to block these types of emails. There is no need for alarm — we are on it.
Summary

We are aware that some service providers have received suspicious emails that appear to come from their own email address. This is a known email spoofing technique that is common across industries and is not unique to Joyner. We are communicating proactively to keep our service providers informed and to share clear guidance on what to do in the meantime while our team resolves the issue.

ATLANTA, GA — We want to address something directly and transparently with our service provider community. We have received reports that some service providers have been receiving emails that appear, at first glance, to have been sent from their own email address. We understand that this can be unsettling to see, and we want to be clear: we are aware of the issue, we are actively working to resolve it, and you do not need to be alarmed.

This type of activity is a well-known technique used by bad actors across the internet. It is not a sign that your account has been compromised or that Joyner's systems have been breached. It is a spoofing method — one that makes an email appear to come from a familiar address in order to encourage the recipient to click on a link or take an action. Our Enterprise Technology team identified this quickly and has been working swiftly to block these emails at the network level.

What to Do Right Now

While our team continues to work on fully resolving this at the infrastructure level, here is exactly what we are asking all service providers to do if they receive one of these emails.

01
Do not click any links in the email

If you receive an email that appears to come from your own address or looks suspicious in any way, do not click any links contained within it. Even if the email looks legitimate, treat any unexpected link with caution until we have fully resolved this issue.

02
Report it as phishing directly from your inbox

Most email clients — including Gmail, Outlook, and others — have a built-in option to report an email as phishing or spam. Please use that option on any suspicious email you receive. This helps your email provider's systems learn to block similar messages automatically and adds a layer of protection on your end while we work on ours.

03
Do not reply to or forward the email

Engaging with the email in any way — including replying or forwarding — can signal to the sender that your address is active. Simply report it and delete it without interacting with its contents.

04
Let your team know

If you work with others who are also Joyner service providers, please share this notice with them. Awareness is one of the most effective defenses against phishing and spoofing attempts, and making sure your colleagues are informed keeps everyone protected.

What Joyner's Enterprise Technology Team Is Doing

We want to be transparent about the steps we are actively taking to resolve this on our end. Our Enterprise Technology team has been on this since we first received reports, and significant progress has already been made.

🔒
Blocking at the network level

Our team is implementing email filtering rules designed to identify and block spoofed emails before they reach service provider inboxes. This work is already underway and being refined continuously.

🔍
Actively monitoring for new attempts

We are monitoring our email infrastructure closely for any new spoofing attempts and will respond to emerging patterns as quickly as they are identified.

⚙️
Strengthening authentication protocols

We are reviewing and reinforcing the email authentication standards that make it harder for bad actors to spoof addresses associated with our network. This is a technical fix that addresses the root of the issue.

📢
Keeping you informed

We will continue to communicate updates through our newsroom and through Joyner One as this situation develops. You will not be left in the dark — we are committed to keeping our service provider community informed at every stage.

This Is a Common Issue Across Industries

We want to be clear about something important: email spoofing of this kind is one of the most common tactics used by bad actors on the internet today. It does not require access to your account or to our systems — it is a technique that exploits how email protocols were originally designed, and it affects organizations of every size and industry on a daily basis.

What matters is not that it happened, but how quickly and effectively it is addressed. We identified this promptly, communicated it transparently, and are resolving it systematically. That is the standard we hold ourselves to as an organization, and it is the standard our service providers deserve.

“Transparency and speed are our first response to any security concern. We would rather communicate early and openly than leave our service provider community without the information they need to protect themselves.”
