LICENSED CARRIER & BROKER

Freight Moved Right, Every Time

Joyner Freight provides truckload, LTL, and brokerage transportation — operating as a licensed motor carrier, broker, or both, depending on the shipment.

Rate Confirmations

Every shipment is governed by a rate confirmation, load tender, or bill of lading setting forth rate, equipment, and pickup/delivery windows.

Carrier or Broker Role

Each rate confirmation identifies whether Joyner is the transporting carrier or arranging transport through a third-party carrier.

FMCSA-Vetted Carriers

Where we arrange transportation, carriers are vetted for active authority, insurance, and safety fitness before dispatch.

Accessorial Charges

Detention, layover, redelivery, lumper fees, and other accessorials are billed per Joyner's published schedule or your rate confirmation.

Cargo Claims

Claims for loss or damage are governed by the Carmack Amendment where Joyner is the carrier, with a 9-month filing window.

Standard Payment Terms

Invoices are due within 30 days of receipt and required delivery documentation unless otherwise specified.

A Trusted Logistics Partner

Dual FMCSA Authority

Joyner holds both motor carrier and broker operating authority, giving customers flexibility shipment by shipment.

Rigorous Carrier Vetting

Carrier safety ratings, insurance, and operating authority are verified consistent with FMCSA regulations before any load is tendered.

Clear Documentation

Every shipment is backed by a signed rate confirmation, so expectations on rate, equipment, and timing are clear from the start.

Common Freight Questions

Is Joyner the carrier or a broker for my shipment?

Joyner holds both motor carrier and broker operating authority and may act in either capacity. Your rate confirmation, load tender, or bill of lading will identify which role Joyner is performing for that specific shipment.

How do I get a rate confirmation?

Each shipment is governed by a rate confirmation, load tender, or bill of lading issued or accepted by Joyner. Contact your Joyner representative or our team to get a quote and confirmation for your load.

How do accessorial charges work?

Accessorial charges like detention, layover, and lumper fees apply per Joyner's accessorial schedule or as specified on your rate confirmation. Detention charges accrue after the applicable free time, typically two hours for live load/unload.

How do I file a cargo claim?

Claims for cargo loss or damage must be filed in writing within nine months of delivery. Where Joyner acts as a broker, claims are the responsibility of the executing motor carrier and its cargo insurance; we'll help identify the responsible party.

When are freight invoices due?

Invoices are due within the payment terms specified on the rate confirmation or, absent specific terms, within 30 days of receipt of invoice and required delivery documentation. Disputed charges must be raised in writing within 15 days.

Who's responsible for loading and unloading?

Unless otherwise agreed, the shipper is responsible for loading and properly securing freight, and the consignee is responsible for unloading. Joyner and its carriers handle cargo securement compliance once freight is accepted for transport.
