Joyner Airport Shuttle — Baggage Liability Disclaimer
1. Purpose
This Baggage Liability Disclaimer ("Disclaimer") describes Joyner Transportation & Logistic Services LLC's ("Joyner," "we," "us," or "our") liability for loss of, damage to, or theft of passenger baggage and personal property in connection with Joyner Airport Shuttle services. By using the Joyner Airport Shuttle service, passengers acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Disclaimer. This Disclaimer supplements and is incorporated into the Joyner Airport Shuttle Rider Terms.
2. Included Baggage Allowance
Each passenger is permitted to bring the following baggage at no additional charge, subject to vehicle capacity:
- One (1) standard checked-size bag (not to exceed 62 linear inches combined dimensions and 50 pounds in weight)
- One (1) personal item — carry-on size or smaller (not to exceed 45 linear inches combined dimensions)
Passengers with baggage exceeding these dimensions or weight limits, or with more than the included allowance, must disclose additional baggage at the time of booking. Additional baggage fees may apply and are subject to vehicle capacity. Joyner reserves the right to decline transport of baggage that cannot be safely accommodated in the vehicle's cargo area.
3. Prohibited Items in Baggage
Passengers must not place the following items in baggage transported in Joyner Airport Shuttle vehicles:
- Cash, currency, or negotiable instruments
- Jewelry, precious metals, or gemstones
- Electronics exceeding $500 in value (laptops, cameras, tablets) — these should be kept in the passenger cabin as carry-on items
- Irreplaceable documents, passports, or identification (keep on your person)
- Medications (keep on your person)
- Firearms or ammunition (must be disclosed and handled in accordance with applicable law)
- Fragile items not in appropriate protective packaging
- Hazardous materials or prohibited substances
Joyner is not liable for loss or damage to any of the above items regardless of whether they are placed in checked or carry-on baggage.
4. Liability Limitation
JOYNER'S LIABILITY FOR LOSS OF, DAMAGE TO, OR THEFT OF PASSENGER BAGGAGE OR PERSONAL PROPERTY IN CONNECTION WITH AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO $500.00 PER BAG AND $1,500.00 PER PASSENGER PER TRIP, REGARDLESS OF THE ACTUAL VALUE OF THE LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS.
JOYNER IS NOT LIABLE FOR: (A) LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ITEMS IN THE PROHIBITED ITEMS LIST IN SECTION 3; (B) LOSS OR DAMAGE TO FRAGILE ITEMS NOT IN APPROPRIATE PROTECTIVE PACKAGING; (C) NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OR MINOR SCUFFS AND SCRATCHES TO LUGGAGE CONSISTENT WITH ORDINARY HANDLING; (D) LOSS OR DAMAGE RESULTING FROM OVERSIZED OR OVERWEIGHT BAGGAGE THAT WAS NOT PROPERLY DISCLOSED AT BOOKING; OR (E) ITEMS LEFT IN THE VEHICLE AFTER THE PASSENGER HAS EXITED — SEE SECTION 7 (LOST & FOUND).
5. Baggage Handling Standards
Joyner drivers handle passenger baggage with reasonable care. Drivers will:
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading baggage from the vehicle's cargo area
- Not stack heavy items on top of fragile or soft-sided bags where the arrangement is observable and avoidable
- Secure cargo area doors before departing
Passengers are responsible for ensuring fragile or high-value items are appropriately packed and protected before tendering them for transport. Joyner is not responsible for damage to items that were improperly packed or that are inherently fragile and not in appropriate protective packaging.
6. Reporting Baggage Loss or Damage
Baggage loss or damage must be reported to Joyner as soon as it is discovered and no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the completion of your trip. To report a baggage claim:
- Contact shuttle@myjoyner.com with the subject line "Baggage Claim — [Your Name] — [Trip Date]"
- Include your booking reference number, a description of the lost or damaged item(s), the estimated value of the item(s), and photographs of any damage
- For damage claims, preserve the damaged item and its packaging for inspection
Claims submitted more than twenty-four (24) hours after trip completion may be denied. Joyner will acknowledge your claim within two (2) business days and provide a written determination within ten (10) business days of receiving complete claim documentation.
7. Lost & Found
Items left in a Joyner Airport Shuttle vehicle after a passenger exits are not covered under this Baggage Liability Disclaimer. Joyner is not responsible for personal property left in vehicles. If you believe you left an item in a Joyner shuttle, contact shuttle@myjoyner.com or the Joyner support line as soon as possible with your booking reference number and a description of the item. Joyner will make reasonable efforts to locate and return found items. Items not claimed within thirty (30) days may be donated or disposed of.
8. Travel Insurance Recommendation
Because Joyner's baggage liability is limited as described in Section 4, passengers traveling with high-value luggage, electronics, jewelry, or other valuable items are strongly encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance or renters/homeowners insurance coverage for their personal property during transit. Joyner's liability cap is not a substitute for personal property insurance.
9. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
All disputes arising out of or relating to baggage claims are subject to the Joyner Arbitration & Dispute Resolution Policy. This Disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
