Privacy Notice

1. Introduction

This Privacy Notice ("Notice") provides a detailed description of how Joyner Transportation & Logistic Services LLC ("Joyner," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information about individuals who interact with Joyner's products, services, websites, and mobile applications in the United States. This Notice supplements the Joyner Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.

This Notice applies to customers, passengers, members, drivers, contractors, agents, job applicants, and any other individual whose personal information Joyner processes in connection with its U.S. operations. For international Joyner TMS users, please see the International Privacy Notice — TMS.

2. Personal Information We Collect

Joyner collects personal information from and about you in the following categories:

2.1 Identity & Contact Information

  • Full name, preferred name, and pronouns (if provided)
  • Home, mailing, and billing address
  • Email address and phone number(s)
  • Date of birth (where required for age verification, background screening, or DOT compliance)
  • Government-issued ID details (driver's license, CDL, passport) — for drivers, contractors, and where required for identity verification

2.2 Account & Profile Information

  • Joyner account username and password (stored in hashed form)
  • Account preferences, settings, and saved addresses
  • Service history, booking records, and transaction history
  • Ratings and reviews you submit or receive
  • Communications with Joyner customer support

2.3 Location & Trip Data

  • Precise geolocation data from your mobile device (when location services are enabled)
  • Pickup and dropoff addresses for transportation bookings
  • Route and trip data generated during transportation services
  • Delivery addresses for DSP and freight services

2.4 Payment & Financial Information

  • Payment method type and last four digits of card number (raw card data is processed by our payment processor and not stored by Joyner)
  • Billing address and payment history
  • Bank account information for ACH payments and contractor payouts (processed through secure payment systems)
  • Tax identification information for contractors and business customers (EIN, SSN for 1099 reporting)

2.5 Usage & Device Data

  • IP address, browser type, and operating system
  • Device identifiers (device ID, advertising ID)
  • Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Site and App
  • Referring URLs and search terms
  • App crash reports and error logs
  • Cookie and tracking technology data (see the Cookie Policy)

2.6 Communications Data

  • Records of your communications with Joyner via email, phone, chat, or the App
  • Call recordings where permitted by applicable law and with required disclosure
  • Feedback, survey responses, and support tickets

2.7 Safety & Compliance Data

  • Background check results (for drivers, contractors, and agents) — collected through authorized consumer reporting agencies with your written consent
  • Motor vehicle records (MVR) for drivers
  • Drug and alcohol test results for applicable drivers (DOT and non-DOT)
  • Incident and accident reports
  • Safety event data from vehicle telematics and dashcam systems (where applicable)

2.8 Sensitive Personal Information

In limited circumstances, Joyner may collect the following categories of sensitive personal information:

  • Social Security numbers — for background screening, tax reporting, and identity verification (collected through secure channels with your consent)
  • Precise geolocation — collected through the Joyner App during active trips and, where permitted and disclosed, at other times
  • Health information — for Joyner Mobility NEMT bookings, limited to mobility and assistance needs disclosed by the rider or booking agent
  • Financial account numbers — for ACH payment processing, handled through secure payment systems

Joyner uses sensitive personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and does not use it for secondary purposes without your consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

3. How We Collect Personal Information

Joyner collects personal information through the following channels:

  • Directly from you: When you create an account, book a service, submit a form, contact customer support, apply for a position, or otherwise interact with Joyner
  • Automatically: Through cookies, SDKs, device identifiers, and other tracking technologies when you use the Site or App (see the Cookie Policy)
  • From third parties: Background check providers, MVR reporting agencies, drug testing providers, payment processors, identity verification services, mapping and navigation providers, and referral partners
  • From other users: Ratings and feedback submitted by drivers, customers, or partners about your interactions with them
  • From public sources: Public records, social media profiles (where relevant to background screening or fraud prevention), and publicly available business information

4. How We Use Personal Information

Joyner uses personal information for the following purposes:

5. How We Share Personal Information

Joyner shares personal information with the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers: Third-party vendors that process personal information on Joyner's behalf, including payment processors, background check providers, cloud hosting providers, customer support platforms, analytics providers, and marketing platforms — subject to data processing agreements and confidentiality obligations
  • Drivers and service partners: Limited information shared to facilitate bookings — for example, a customer's pickup location and first name shared with an assigned driver
  • Customers: Limited information shared to confirm a booking — for example, a driver's first name, vehicle make and model, and estimated arrival time
  • Healthcare and MCO partners: For Joyner Mobility NEMT trips authorized through managed care organizations — trip and rider information shared as required for billing and coordination
  • Law enforcement and government agencies: Where required by applicable law, court order, subpoena, or governmental authority — see our Guidelines for Law Enforcement
  • Business transferees: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections
  • With your consent: For any other purpose with your prior consent

Joyner does not sell personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. Joyner does not share personal information for third-party direct marketing purposes without your consent.

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to know: The right to know what personal information Joyner has collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared
  • Right to access: The right to request a copy of the specific personal information Joyner has collected about you in the prior 12 months
  • Right to delete: The right to request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Right to correct: The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out of sale/sharing: The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Click "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in the footer of the Site to exercise this right.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: The right to limit Joyner's use of sensitive personal information to purposes necessary to provide the requested service
  • Right to non-discrimination: The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise California privacy rights, contact us at privacy@myjoyner.com or call 1-800-JOYNER-1. Joyner will respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable consumer request (with up to a 90-day extension for complex requests, with notice).

7. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights similar to those described in Section 6, including rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of personal information. To exercise state privacy rights, contact privacy@myjoyner.com. Joyner will respond within the timeframe required by applicable state law.

8. Marketing Communications

Joyner may send you promotional emails, SMS messages, and push notifications about Joyner Services, offers, and updates. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by:

  • Clicking "Unsubscribe" in any marketing email
  • Replying STOP to any marketing SMS
  • Adjusting notification preferences in the Joyner App settings
  • Contacting privacy@myjoyner.com

Opting out of marketing communications does not affect transactional communications related to your active bookings, account activity, or safety alerts.

9. Data Retention

Joyner retains personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Specific retention periods are described in the Joyner Data Retention Policy. When personal information is no longer needed, Joyner deletes or anonymizes it in accordance with that Policy.

10. Security

Joyner implements reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls and authentication requirements, regular security assessments, and employee training on data protection. Despite these safeguards, no system is completely secure. If you believe your Joyner account has been compromised, contact security@myjoyner.com immediately.

11. Children's Privacy

Joyner Services are not directed at or intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. Joyner does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe Joyner has inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, contact privacy@myjoyner.com and Joyner will promptly delete such information.

12. Changes to This Notice

Joyner may update this Privacy Notice at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. The current version is always available at myjoyner.com/privacy-notice/. Continued use of Joyner Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Notice.
