Community Guidelines

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 Last Updated: January 1, 2026

Our Community Standards

The Joyner community is built on a foundation of mutual respect, safety, and shared commitment to reliable service. These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") set the standard of conduct expected from every member of our community — customers, passengers, drivers, delivery partners, agents, contractors, and employees. They apply to all interactions through Joyner's services, including in-vehicle, at Joyner facilities, through the Joyner mobile app, by phone, by email, and in any other communication in connection with Joyner services.

By using any Joyner service, you agree to follow these Guidelines. Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from the Joyner platform.

1. Treat Everyone with Respect

Every person you interact with through Joyner — drivers, customers, dispatchers, warehouse staff, support personnel, delivery recipients — deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Joyner has a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Discrimination, harassment, or hate speech based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, or aggressive behavior directed at any person
  • Use of slurs, offensive language, or derogatory comments of any kind
  • Unwanted physical contact or sexual harassment of any person
  • Retaliation against any person who reports a concern or violation

This standard applies equally to customers, drivers, and all other members of the Joyner community. No one — regardless of their role — is exempt from this requirement.

2. Safety Is Non-Negotiable

Safety is Joyner's highest priority across all service lines. All community members are expected to:

2.1 In Vehicles

  • Wear a seatbelt at all times while in a Joyner vehicle — this is required for all passengers and drivers
  • Not distract the driver or request that the driver violate traffic laws, speed limits, or safety regulations
  • Not consume alcohol or use drugs in a Joyner vehicle
  • Not smoke, vape, or use any tobacco or cannabis product in any Joyner vehicle
  • Not bring prohibited items — including firearms, weapons, explosive devices, or illegal substances — into any Joyner vehicle (see the Firearms Prohibition Policy)

2.2 For Drivers & Service Partners

  • Comply with all applicable federal and state traffic laws, DOT regulations, and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements
  • Never operate a Joyner vehicle while impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication, fatigue, or any other substance or condition that impairs driving ability
  • Perform required pre-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues promptly
  • Maintain valid licensure, certification, and insurance as required by Joyner and applicable law
  • Complete all required safety training through Joyner University

2.3 At Joyner Facilities

  • Follow all posted safety rules, signage, and instructions from facility personnel
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
  • Report unsafe conditions, near-misses, and incidents to facility management immediately
  • Do not operate vehicles, forklifts, or equipment in Joyner facilities without proper authorization and training

3. Act with Honesty & Integrity

All members of the Joyner community are expected to act honestly and with integrity in all interactions with Joyner and with each other:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information about yourself, your cargo, your vehicle, your identity, and your needs when using Joyner services
  • Do not create fake accounts, use another person's identity, or misrepresent your qualifications, credentials, or eligibility for Joyner services
  • Do not fraudulently claim services, payments, reimbursements, or credits you have not earned or are not entitled to
  • Do not manipulate ratings, reviews, or feedback systems
  • Do not engage in price fixing, bid rigging, or any other anticompetitive conduct in connection with Joyner services
  • Report fraud, theft, or dishonesty by any community member through the reporting channels in Section 8

4. Protect Privacy

All community members must respect the privacy of others:

  • Do not photograph, video record, or audio record other passengers, drivers, or Joyner personnel without their knowledge and consent, except as expressly permitted by applicable law
  • Do not collect, share, or misuse the personal information — including names, addresses, phone numbers, or financial information — of other community members
  • Do not share customer shipment information, pickup or delivery locations, or cargo details with unauthorized persons
  • Handle any personal information you encounter in connection with Joyner services with discretion and in accordance with applicable privacy law

5. Care for Property

Community members are expected to treat Joyner vehicles, facilities, equipment, and the property of others with care:

  • Do not damage, deface, vandalize, or tamper with any Joyner vehicle, facility, or equipment
  • Do not steal from Joyner, from other community members, or from customers or shippers whose cargo is in Joyner's custody
  • Leave vehicles and facilities in the same condition — or better — than you found them
  • Customers who cause damage to a Joyner vehicle (including cleaning requiring professional remediation) may be charged a damage or cleaning fee as described in the applicable service Terms & Conditions
  • Report property damage promptly through proper channels rather than leaving it unreported

6. Follow the Law

All community members must comply with applicable federal, state, and local law in connection with their use of Joyner services:

  • Do not use Joyner services to transport illegal goods, controlled substances, stolen property, or any item the shipment of which is prohibited by applicable law
  • Do not use Joyner services to facilitate fraud, money laundering, human trafficking, or any other illegal activity
  • Comply with all applicable customs, import/export, and hazardous materials regulations in connection with freight services
  • Comply with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations for commercial motor vehicle operations

7. Use Technology Responsibly

When using the Joyner mobile app, Joyner TMS, Joyner Vu, or any other Joyner digital platform:

  • Use Joyner's technology platforms only for their intended, lawful purposes
  • Do not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise tamper with Joyner's technology systems
  • Do not share your account credentials with unauthorized persons
  • Report suspected security vulnerabilities or unauthorized access to security@myjoyner.com promptly
  • See the Joyner Acceptable Use Policy for detailed technology use requirements

8. Reporting Violations

Joyner takes violations of these Guidelines seriously and encourages all community members to report concerns promptly. You can report violations through the following channels:

  • In-app safety report: Use the safety or report function in the Joyner mobile app for trip-related concerns
  • Safety email: safety@myjoyner.com for safety incidents and misconduct reports
  • Ethics Hotline: Contact our Ethics Hotline (access details available to employees, drivers, and agents through Joyner One) — anonymous reports accepted
  • Ethics email: ethics@myjoyner.com for fraud, discrimination, and misconduct reports
  • Emergency: Call 911 immediately for any situation involving an immediate threat to life or safety

Joyner prohibits retaliation against any person who reports a good-faith concern under these Guidelines. All reports are reviewed and investigated in accordance with Joyner's applicable investigation procedures.

9. Consequences of Violations

Joyner takes violations of these Community Guidelines seriously. Depending on the nature, severity, and circumstances of a violation, consequences may include:

  • A formal warning
  • Temporary suspension from Joyner services or platforms
  • Permanent deactivation or ban from Joyner services
  • Termination of employment, contractor engagement, or agent relationship
  • Referral to law enforcement and cooperation with criminal or civil proceedings
  • Civil liability for harm caused by the violation

Joyner reserves the right to make deactivation and termination decisions based on the totality of the circumstances, including the severity of the violation, the community member's history, and the impact on other community members and on Joyner's ability to provide safe, reliable service.

10. Changes to These Guidelines

Joyner may update these Community Guidelines at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Joyner app, email, or the Joyner Legal Center. Continued use of Joyner services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines. The current version is always available at myjoyner.com/community-guidelines/.
