Joyner Autow — Membership Terms
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Membership Terms ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Member," "you," or "your") and Joyner Transportation & Logistic Services LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("Joyner," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your enrollment in and use of the Joyner Autow motor club membership program ("Autow" or "Program"). By enrolling in Autow, you agree to be bound by these Terms, the Joyner Master Terms & Conditions, the Privacy Policy, the Roadside Assistance Terms, the Service Limitations Policy, and the Cancellation & Refund Addendum, all of which are incorporated herein by reference.
2. Program Overview
Joyner Autow is a subscription-based motor club membership program that provides enrolled members with access to roadside assistance services, including emergency towing, battery jump-start, flat tire change, fuel delivery, and lockout assistance, subject to the coverage terms, limitations, and exclusions described in these Terms and the accompanying service-specific policies. Autow is a membership benefit program — not an insurance product — and does not replace auto insurance.
3. Membership Plans
Autow membership is available in the following tiers (specific pricing and benefit details are available at myjoyner.com/joyner-autow/ and are subject to change with reasonable notice):
- Autow Basic: Entry-level membership covering essential roadside assistance services with standard service call limits and towing mileage caps
- Autow Plus: Mid-tier membership with expanded towing mileage, additional service calls per membership year, and trip interruption benefits
- Autow Premier: Premium membership with maximum towing mileage, unlimited service calls (subject to fair use limits), extended trip interruption coverage, and priority dispatch
Specific coverage limits, service call allowances, towing mileage caps, and benefit details for each tier are described in the Autow membership benefit summary provided at enrollment and available in your Joyner account.
4. Membership Eligibility
Autow membership is available to individuals who are at least 18 years of age, are residents of the United States, and hold a valid driver's license. Membership benefits are personal to the named member and are not transferable. Membership covers the named member and, where the selected membership tier includes household coverage, the member's household members driving an eligible vehicle.
5. Covered Vehicles
Autow membership covers privately owned or leased passenger vehicles — including cars, SUVs, minivans, and light-duty pickup trucks with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less — that are registered and operated in the United States. The following vehicles are not covered under standard Autow membership:
- Commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, or vehicles used primarily for commercial purposes
- Vehicles with a GVWR exceeding 10,000 pounds
- Motorcycles (unless a motorcycle endorsement is added to the membership)
- Recreational vehicles (RVs), motorhomes, or campers (unless an RV endorsement is added)
- Trailers, boats, or off-road vehicles
- Vehicles not legally registered or not in compliance with applicable state inspection and registration requirements
6. Membership Term & Auto-Renewal
Autow membership is sold on a monthly or annual subscription basis, as selected at enrollment. Your membership automatically renews at the end of each subscription period at the then-current membership rate for your selected tier, unless you cancel before the renewal date in accordance with the Cancellation & Refund Addendum. You will receive advance notice of any price change affecting your renewal at least thirty (30) days prior to the renewal date.
7. Renewal Price Lock Guarantee
When you enroll in Joyner Autow, your membership rate is locked at the rate in effect at the time of your enrollment for the first twelve (12) months of your membership. Joyner will not increase your membership rate during your initial membership term.
Beginning at your first renewal and at each subsequent renewal, Joyner reserves the right to adjust membership rates. However, any rate increase applied to your membership at renewal will not exceed ten percent (10%) above your most recent membership rate, regardless of market conditions or changes to the applicable tier's standard rate. This cap applies per renewal cycle — it is not cumulative.
If a rate increase applies at your renewal, Joyner will notify you at least thirty (30) days before the renewal date. You may cancel your membership within the thirty (30) day notice window without a cancellation fee and receive a pro-rated refund of any prepaid annual fees. If you do not cancel before the renewal date, you will be deemed to have accepted the new rate.
If no rate increase applies at your renewal, your membership renews at your current rate. Joyner is under no obligation to apply an increase at every renewal cycle.
8. Membership Tier Changes — Upgrades & Downgrades
Upgrades: You may upgrade your membership tier at any time. An upgrade takes effect immediately upon payment of any applicable rate difference for the remainder of the current billing cycle, prorated from the upgrade date. You will begin receiving the higher tier's benefits immediately upon upgrade.
Downgrades: You may downgrade your membership tier at any time by contacting autow@myjoyner.com or through the Joyner mobile app. A downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle — it does not take effect immediately. You will continue to receive your current tier's benefits through the end of the current billing cycle. No refund or credit is issued for a downgrade — the difference in tier rates is not refunded for any portion of the current billing cycle. Your lower tier rate will apply beginning at the next renewal.
Service call limits and coverage allowances reset at the start of each membership year regardless of tier changes during the year.
Membership fees are charged to the payment method on file at the time of enrollment and at each renewal. All fees are non-refundable except as described in the Cancellation & Refund Addendum. If a payment fails, Joyner will notify you and may retry the charge. Membership benefits are suspended during any period of non-payment and reinstated upon successful payment. All billing is subject to the Joyner Billing & Payment Policy.
9. Waiting Period
A waiting period of seventy-two (72) hours from the date of membership enrollment applies before roadside assistance services may be requested. This waiting period is designed to prevent enrollment solely for the purpose of obtaining immediate service for a pre-existing breakdown or vehicle condition. Renewals of existing Autow memberships are not subject to the waiting period, provided there is no lapse in membership coverage.
10. How to Request Service
To request roadside assistance under your Autow membership:
- Use the Joyner mobile app (fastest) — open the app, tap "Roadside Assistance," and follow the prompts
- Call the Autow member hotline at the number listed in your membership confirmation and Joyner account
When requesting service, be prepared to provide your membership number or the phone number associated with your account, the year, make, model, and license plate of the disabled vehicle, your precise location, and a description of the service needed.
11. Service Dispatch
Upon receiving a valid service request, Joyner will dispatch a qualified roadside assistance provider to your location. Estimated arrival times vary based on your location, local traffic conditions, time of day, and provider availability. Joyner makes good-faith efforts to provide prompt service but does not guarantee specific arrival times. Estimated arrival times provided at the time of dispatch are estimates only and are not contractual commitments.
12. Service Limitations & Exclusions
Autow membership benefits are subject to coverage limits, service call limits per membership year, towing mileage caps, and exclusions as described in the Autow Service Limitations Policy. Key limitations include:
- Service calls per membership year are capped at the limit for your membership tier
- Towing is provided to the nearest qualified repair facility, or to a facility of your choice within the towing mileage allowance for your tier
- Services are not available for vehicles that are not accessible by a standard roadside assistance vehicle (e.g., vehicles in bodies of water, inaccessible terrain, or private property where entry is restricted)
- Costs exceeding your membership coverage limits are the member's responsibility
13. Member Responsibilities
As an Autow member, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your vehicle and location when requesting service
- Be present at the vehicle (or have an authorized representative present) when the service provider arrives
- Not misuse membership benefits, including by requesting service for non-covered vehicles or situations
- Pay any costs that exceed your membership coverage limits directly to the service provider or as invoiced by Joyner
- Maintain current payment information on file to avoid interruption of membership benefits
14. Limitation of Liability
JOYNER'S LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH AUTOW MEMBERSHIP AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SERVICES IS LIMITED AS DESCRIBED IN THE JOYNER LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION POLICY AND THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TERMS. IN NO EVENT SHALL JOYNER BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR MEMBERSHIP OR THE PROVISION OR NON-PROVISION OF ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SERVICES.
15. Roadside Assistance Reimbursements
If you pay out of pocket for a roadside assistance service that is covered under your Autow membership — for example, because you were unable to reach Joyner dispatch or chose to arrange service independently — you may submit a reimbursement request to be compensated for eligible covered expenses, subject to the requirements and limitations in this Section.
14.1 Eligibility
To be eligible for reimbursement, the service must:
- Be a covered service under your active Autow membership tier at the time of the service
- Have been performed during your active membership period and after the 72-hour waiting period
- Not exceed the coverage limits for your membership tier as described in the Service Limitations Policy
- Not have already been provided through a Joyner-dispatched service call (you may not receive both a dispatched service and a reimbursement for the same incident)
14.2 Required Documentation
All reimbursement requests must be submitted with the following documentation — incomplete requests will not be processed:
- A completed Joyner Autow reimbursement request form (available at autow@myjoyner.com upon request)
- An itemized billing statement from the service provider showing: the date of service, the type of service performed, the vehicle serviced, and the itemized charges
- Proof of payment in full — such as a receipt, credit card statement, or bank statement — clearly showing that the balance has been paid in full by you
- The location where the service was performed
- Your Autow membership number or the phone number associated with your account
14.3 How to Submit
Reimbursement requests must be submitted within sixty (60) days of the date of service. Requests submitted after this deadline will be denied. Submit your request and all required documentation to autow@myjoyner.com with the subject line "Reimbursement Request — [Your Name] — [Date of Service]."
14.4 Processing Timeline
Joyner will process approved reimbursement requests within three (3) to five (5) business days of receipt of a complete request with all required documentation. Reimbursements will be issued to the payment method on file for your Autow membership or, where that method is not available, by check to your address on file. Incomplete requests will be returned with a written explanation of the missing documentation and will not be processed until all required items are received.
14.5 Reimbursement Limits
Reimbursements are limited to the lesser of: (a) the actual amount you paid for the covered service; or (b) the maximum coverage limit for that service under your membership tier as described in the Service Limitations Policy. Reimbursements count against your annual service call limit. Costs that exceed your coverage limits are not reimbursable.
14.6 Investigation of Reimbursement Claims
Joyner reserves the right to investigate any reimbursement claim prior to approval. Under suspicious or unusual circumstances — including but not limited to claims that appear inconsistent with the documentation provided, claims for services in locations inconsistent with the member's known travel, or patterns of frequent reimbursement claims — Joyner may take the following steps before approving or denying a claim:
- Contact the service provider directly to verify that the service was performed as described and that the invoice is authentic
- Request additional documentation, including photographs of the disabled vehicle, the service provider's vehicle, or the service location
- Request a signed written statement from you describing the circumstances of the breakdown
- Conduct any other reasonable verification steps Joyner deems appropriate
Joyner reserves the right to deny any reimbursement claim that it determines, in its reasonable judgment, was submitted under false pretenses, contains fraudulent documentation, or materially misrepresents the nature, date, location, or cost of the service. A denial based on suspected fraud will be communicated to you in writing. If Joyner determines that a reimbursement claim was submitted fraudulently, Joyner reserves the right to immediately cancel your Autow membership. Where the membership was paid on an annual basis, a pro-rated refund of the unused portion of the annual membership fee will be issued, less any amounts reimbursed or paid by Joyner in connection with the fraudulent claim.
16. Trip Interruption Reimbursements
Members enrolled in Autow Plus and Autow Premier tiers who experience a covered breakdown more than 100 miles from their primary residence that results in an unplanned overnight stay may be eligible for trip interruption reimbursement as described in the Roadside Assistance Terms. The following requirements apply specifically to trip interruption reimbursement claims:
15.1 Required Documentation
- A completed Joyner Autow trip interruption reimbursement request form
- Itemized hotel/lodging receipt showing the date(s) of stay, property name and address, and total charges — paid receipt required
- Itemized meal receipts for the eligible reimbursement period — paid receipts required
- Documentation of the covered breakdown that necessitated the overnight stay, including the service provider invoice or Joyner dispatch record for the breakdown service
- Proof that the breakdown location was more than 100 miles from your primary residence (e.g., Google Maps screenshot or similar)
- Proof of payment in full for all claimed expenses
15.2 Submission & Processing
Trip interruption reimbursement requests must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the last eligible expense date. Submit all required documentation to autow@myjoyner.com with the subject line "Trip Interruption Reimbursement — [Your Name] — [Date of Breakdown]." Processing timelines, investigation rights, and fraud provisions described in Section 14 apply equally to trip interruption reimbursement claims. Reimbursements are capped at the per-day and per-incident limits for your membership tier as described in the Service Limitations Policy.
17. Vehicle Damage Claims
If your vehicle sustains damage during the performance of a Joyner Autow roadside assistance service, the following process applies:
16.1 Reporting Damage
You must report any vehicle damage caused during a Joyner Autow service within forty-eight (48) hours of the service by contacting autow@myjoyner.com with the subject line "Vehicle Damage Report — [Your Name] — [Date of Service]." Your report must include:
- Your membership number and the dispatch reference number for the service call
- A description of the damage and how it occurred
- Photographs of the damage clearly showing the affected areas of the vehicle
- A copy of the service ticket from the service call, if provided to you
- Any other documentation relevant to the damage
Damage reports submitted more than forty-eight (48) hours after the service may be denied unless you can demonstrate that the damage was not reasonably discoverable within that period.
16.2 Investigation Process
Upon receipt of a damage report, Joyner will conduct a fair investigation involving both you and the service provider. The investigation may include:
- Review of all photographs and documentation submitted by you and the service provider
- Review of pre-service vehicle documentation taken by the service provider
- Statements from you and the service provider's operator
- Review of any dashcam or telematics footage from the service provider's vehicle
- Consultation with an independent vehicle damage assessor or repair facility where necessary
Both you and the service provider will have an opportunity to present your account of the incident. Joyner will issue a written determination of liability within ten (10) business days of receiving all required documentation from both parties. You will be notified of the outcome in writing.
16.3 If the Service Provider Is Found Liable
If Joyner's investigation determines that the service provider caused the damage through negligence or improper vehicle handling, Joyner will:
- File a claim on the service provider's garage keepers liability insurance for the cost of repairing your vehicle to its pre-damage condition
- Coordinate the claims and repair process on your behalf
- Keep you informed of the status of the insurance claim and repair process
You may be required to work directly with the service provider's insurance adjuster and the repair facility in connection with the claim. Joyner will assist in facilitating this process but is not a party to the insurance claim between you and the service provider's insurer.
16.4 Joyner's Liability for Vehicle Damage
JOYNER'S LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE CAUSED DURING A ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SERVICE IS LIMITED AS DESCRIBED IN THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TERMS AND THE JOYNER LIMITATION OF LIABILITY POLICY. WHERE DAMAGE IS CAUSED BY AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE PROVIDER AND NOT BY JOYNER'S OWN NEGLIGENCE, YOUR REMEDY IS AGAINST THE SERVICE PROVIDER AND ITS INSURER. JOYNER WILL FACILITATE THE CLAIMS PROCESS BUT DOES NOT ASSUME THE SERVICE PROVIDER'S LIABILITY.
16.5 Pre-Existing Damage
Service providers are required to document the condition of your vehicle before beginning any service. Pre-existing damage documented before the service began is not covered under a vehicle damage claim. Joyner strongly encourages you to photograph your vehicle before any service begins as an additional record.
18. Arbitration & Class Action Waiver
BY ENROLLING IN JOYNER AUTOW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE, CLAIM, OR CONTROVERSY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR AUTOW MEMBERSHIP, THESE TERMS, ANY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SERVICE, ANY REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM, OR THE BREACH, TERMINATION, OR VALIDITY OF ANY OF THE FOREGOING, SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH FINAL AND BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION — NOT IN COURT.
YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO: (A) FILE OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY LAWSUIT OR COURT PROCEEDING AGAINST JOYNER IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR AUTOW MEMBERSHIP OR ANY SERVICE PROVIDED THEREUNDER; (B) PARTICIPATE AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, COLLECTIVE ACTION, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION AGAINST JOYNER; AND (C) PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS-WIDE OR MULTI-PLAINTIFF ARBITRATION PROCEEDING AGAINST JOYNER. ALL CLAIMS MUST BE BROUGHT ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ONLY.
Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, available at www.adr.org. The arbitration will be conducted in Atlanta, Georgia, or by telephone or video conference at your election for claims of $25,000 or less. The full terms of Joyner's arbitration agreement, including opt-out rights, fee allocation, and mass arbitration procedures, are described in the Joyner Arbitration & Dispute Resolution Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
19. Cancellation
You may cancel your Autow membership at any time in accordance with the Autow Cancellation & Refund Addendum. Cancellation stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund of fees already charged except as described in the Addendum.
20. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
All disputes arising out of or relating to Autow membership are subject to the Joyner Arbitration & Dispute Resolution Policy and the arbitration and class action waiver in Section 16 above. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
21. Membership Freeze / Suspension
Active Autow members may request a temporary membership freeze — pausing their membership and billing — for the following qualifying reasons:
- Extended vehicle storage (e.g., seasonal storage of a classic car or recreational vehicle)
- Medical leave or hospitalization preventing the member from driving
- Military deployment
- Any other circumstance approved by Joyner at its sole discretion
Membership freezes are available for a minimum of one (1) month and a maximum of six (6) months per membership year. During a freeze, membership benefits are suspended and no service calls may be requested. The freeze period does not count toward your annual membership term — your renewal date is extended by the number of months frozen. Billing is paused during the freeze period and resumes automatically when the freeze ends.
To request a freeze, contact autow@myjoyner.com with your membership number, the reason for the freeze request, and the desired freeze start and end dates. Freeze requests must be submitted at least five (5) business days before the desired freeze start date. The 72-hour waiting period does not re-apply when a membership is reactivated from a freeze, provided there is no lapse in the membership term.
22. Membership Transfer Policy
Autow memberships are personal and non-transferable except in the following limited circumstances:
- Vehicle sale: Membership benefits are member-based, not vehicle-specific. If you sell your covered vehicle, your membership remains active and covers your replacement vehicle, provided the replacement vehicle meets the eligibility requirements in Section 5. Notify Joyner of the vehicle change by updating your account.
- Death of member: Upon the death of a named member, the membership may be transferred to a surviving spouse or domestic partner residing in the same household, upon written request and submission of a copy of the death certificate. The transferred membership retains the original renewal date and remaining term. All other beneficiaries may cancel the membership and receive a pro-rated refund of any prepaid annual fees under the Cancellation & Refund Addendum.
- Household transfer: A membership may not be transferred to a non-household member. Household member additions and changes must be made through your Joyner account or by contacting autow@myjoyner.com.
Any attempted transfer not described above is void and will result in cancellation of the membership without refund.
23. Fraud, Abuse & Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct constitutes fraud or abuse of Autow membership benefits and is strictly prohibited:
- Staging, fabricating, or misrepresenting a vehicle breakdown or roadside emergency to obtain services or reimbursements
- Submitting reimbursement claims for services that were not performed, were performed on ineligible vehicles, or were performed outside the membership period
- Submitting altered, forged, or fabricated invoices, receipts, or supporting documentation
- Allowing any person who is not an authorized member or household member to use your membership benefits
- Using a personal membership for commercial purposes, including using the membership to obtain roadside assistance for vehicles used in business operations not covered under the membership
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent service call limits or waiting periods
- Coordinating with a service provider to submit inflated or fictitious invoices for reimbursement
Upon determination that fraud or abuse has occurred, Joyner reserves the right to: (a) immediately deny the fraudulent claim; (b) immediately cancel the membership without notice; (c) recover the value of any benefits fraudulently obtained; (d) report the conduct to law enforcement where applicable; and (e) pursue all available legal remedies. Where an annual membership is cancelled for fraud, no pro-rated refund will be issued.
24. Authorized Users & Household Members
Depending on your membership tier, your Autow membership may cover household members in addition to the named primary member. The following rules apply:
- Definition of household member: A household member is an individual who permanently resides at the same primary residence address as the named member and is listed on the membership account
- Adding household members: Household members must be added to the membership account through the Joyner app or by contacting autow@myjoyner.com. Household members are not automatically covered — they must be explicitly added
- Household member limits: The number of covered household members per membership is determined by the selected tier and is specified in the membership benefit summary
- Credential sharing prohibited: You may not share your membership number, account credentials, or membership card with any person who is not an authorized member or listed household member. Unauthorized use of membership credentials is a violation of Section 21 and may result in immediate cancellation
- Household member conduct: Each household member is bound by these Terms and the Community Guidelines. Violations by a household member may result in removal of that household member or cancellation of the entire membership, depending on the severity of the violation
25. Privacy & Data Collection
In connection with providing Autow membership and roadside assistance services, Joyner and its service providers collect certain personal information about you, including:
- Your name, address, phone number, and account information
- Your precise location at the time of a service request, used to dispatch the nearest available service provider
- Your vehicle information, including make, model, year, license plate, and VIN
- Service call history, including date, location, type of service, and service provider used
- Reimbursement claim history and supporting documentation
- Communications with Joyner dispatch and customer support
This information is used to provide and manage your membership, dispatch roadside assistance, process reimbursements, detect fraud, improve our services, and comply with applicable law. Joyner does not sell your personal information to third parties. Full details on how Joyner collects, uses, and protects your personal information are available in the Joyner Privacy Policy and Privacy Notice. By enrolling in Autow, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in those documents and in this Section.
26. Electronic Communications Consent (E-SIGN)
By enrolling in Joyner Autow, you consent to receive all membership-related communications electronically, including:
- Membership confirmation and welcome materials
- Renewal notices and billing statements
- Changes to these Terms or any incorporated policy
- Reimbursement decisions and correspondence
- Service call confirmations and receipts
- Account notices and membership status updates
Electronic communications will be sent to the email address or phone number associated with your Joyner account. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current. To withdraw your consent to electronic communications, contact autow@myjoyner.com — note that withdrawal of consent may limit your ability to use certain membership features that require electronic communication. Your consent to electronic communications is governed by the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.).
27. Membership Credentials
Upon enrollment, you will receive a digital membership card accessible through the Joyner mobile app, and a membership number associated with your account. Your membership credentials are used to verify your identity and membership status when requesting roadside assistance or submitting reimbursement claims.
- Keep credentials secure: You are responsible for keeping your membership number and account credentials secure. Do not share them with any unauthorized person.
- Lost or stolen credentials: If you believe your membership credentials have been compromised or used without authorization, contact autow@myjoyner.com immediately. Joyner will deactivate the compromised credentials and issue new ones. You are responsible for any service calls or reimbursements obtained through unauthorized use of your credentials before you report the compromise to Joyner.
- Physical membership cards: Physical membership cards are not issued as a standard feature of Autow membership. Digital credentials through the Joyner app are the primary means of membership verification.
28. Service Network Changes
Joyner provides roadside assistance through a network of independent third-party service providers. The composition of this network changes from time to time as providers are added, removed, or change their service areas. Joyner reserves the right to modify its service provider network at any time without prior notice to members. Changes to the service network do not affect your membership benefits — Joyner's obligation is to dispatch a qualified provider to your location, not to use any specific provider. Response times may vary based on provider availability in your area, particularly in rural or remote locations.
29. Roadside Safety Disclaimer
While waiting for roadside assistance, your personal safety is your primary responsibility. Joyner strongly recommends the following safety practices while waiting for a service provider:
- Move your vehicle as far off the roadway as safely possible — onto the shoulder, an exit ramp, or a parking area
- Turn on your hazard lights immediately
- Stay inside your locked vehicle when it is safer to do so, particularly on high-speed roads or highways
- If you must exit the vehicle, move well away from traffic and stay behind any guardrail or barrier
- Use reflective triangles, flares, or emergency beacons if available and it is safe to deploy them
- Do not attempt to change a tire or perform repairs on the shoulder of a high-speed roadway — wait for the service provider
- Call 911 immediately if you are in immediate danger
JOYNER IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE SUSTAINED BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY WHILE WAITING FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, INCLUDING INJURIES RESULTING FROM TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, WEATHER CONDITIONS, OR OTHER HAZARDS PRESENT AT THE BREAKDOWN LOCATION, WHERE SUCH INJURY OR DAMAGE IS NOT CAUSED BY JOYNER'S OWN NEGLIGENCE.
30. Geographic Coverage Changes
Joyner Autow is currently available throughout the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. Joyner reserves the right to expand or contract its service coverage area at any time, subject to the following:
- Expansion: New coverage areas may be added at any time without prior notice
- Contraction: If Joyner discontinues coverage in an area where you reside or regularly travel, Joyner will provide at least thirty (30) days' advance written notice. Members in affected areas may cancel their membership and receive a pro-rated refund of any prepaid annual fees without a cancellation fee during the notice period
- International coverage: Autow does not currently provide coverage outside the United States. Members traveling internationally should obtain appropriate local roadside assistance coverage
31. Membership Gifting
Joyner Autow memberships may be purchased as gifts where this option is available through the Joyner app or website. The following terms apply to gifted memberships:
- Activation: A gifted membership must be activated by the gift recipient through the Joyner app or website within twelve (12) months of purchase. Unactivated gifted memberships expire after twelve (12) months and are non-refundable after the purchaser's standard 30-day return window
- Waiting period: The 72-hour waiting period applies from the date the gift recipient activates the membership, not from the date of purchase
- Refunds: Refunds for gifted memberships follow the standard terms in the Cancellation & Refund Addendum. The purchaser may request a refund within 30 days of purchase if the membership has not yet been activated. Once activated, refund rights belong to the named member (gift recipient)
- Tier and benefits: A gifted membership provides the same tier benefits as a standard purchased membership of the same tier
- Non-transferable: Gifted memberships may not be re-gifted or resold
32. Joint & Shared Membership for Couples
Joyner Autow offers a Joint Membership option for two individuals who reside at the same primary residence address ("Joint Members"). Joint Membership provides both named individuals with full membership benefits under a single shared account, at a discounted rate compared to two individual memberships. The following terms apply to Joint Memberships:
- Eligibility: Both Joint Members must reside at the same primary residence address. Joint Membership is available to spouses, domestic partners, or any two adults who share the same permanent household address.
- Shared benefits: Service call limits, towing mileage allowances, and annual benefit caps apply to the Joint Membership as a whole — not separately to each member. Both Joint Members draw from the same annual service call allocation.
- Primary and secondary member: One Joint Member is designated as the primary account holder and is responsible for all account management, billing, and communications with Joyner. The secondary member has equal service benefits but does not have account management access unless separately authorized by the primary member.
- Billing: Joint Membership fees are billed to the primary member's payment method. Both members are jointly responsible for all amounts owed under the Joint Membership.
- Removing a joint member: Either joint member may be removed from the account at any time by the primary member. Removal of the secondary member converts the account to a standard individual membership at the applicable individual rate, effective at the next billing cycle. No refund is issued for the difference in rates for the current billing cycle.
- Separation or divorce: In the event of separation or divorce, either party may request that the Joint Membership be split into two individual memberships. Each individual membership will be assessed at the applicable individual rate at the next renewal. Contact autow@myjoyner.com to initiate this process.
- Waiting period: The 72-hour waiting period applies to the Joint Membership from the date of enrollment. Both members are subject to the same waiting period.
33. Dispute Escalation Process
Joyner is committed to resolving member concerns fairly and promptly through a structured escalation process before any formal dispute resolution is initiated. Before filing for arbitration under Section 18, members must exhaust the following escalation steps in order:
33.1 Step 1 — Customer Support
Contact Joyner Autow customer support at autow@myjoyner.com or through the Joyner mobile app with a written description of your concern and the resolution you are seeking. Customer support will acknowledge your concern within two (2) business days and provide an initial response within five (5) business days.
33.2 Step 2 — Supervisor Review
If you are not satisfied with the customer support response, you may request escalation to a supervisor by replying to your support correspondence and stating that you are requesting supervisor review. A supervisor will review your concern and respond within five (5) business days of the escalation request.
33.3 Step 3 — Director Review
If you are not satisfied with the supervisor's response, you may request escalation to the Director level by sending a written escalation request to legal@myjoyner.com with the subject line "Autow Dispute Escalation — Director Review Request," including your account information, a summary of the dispute, the prior responses you have received, and the specific resolution you are seeking. A Director-level representative will review your concern and provide a written response within ten (10) business days.
The Director-level response constitutes Joyner's final internal position on the dispute. If the dispute is not resolved following the Director review, either party may initiate arbitration as described in Section 18 and the Joyner Arbitration & Dispute Resolution Policy. Arbitration filings submitted without first completing all three escalation steps above will be considered premature and may be subject to dismissal.
34. Member Feedback & Service Provider Ratings
Following each Joyner Autow service call, members may be prompted to provide a rating and feedback about the service they received. Member feedback and ratings are an important tool Joyner uses to:
- Monitor and maintain high service quality standards across its roadside assistance provider network
- Identify service providers who consistently deliver excellent service and those who may need coaching, retraining, or removal from the network
- Improve dispatch procedures, response time performance, and overall member experience
- Identify patterns in service failures or member complaints that may indicate systemic issues
Member ratings and feedback are reviewed by Joyner's network quality team and are used as one of several inputs in provider performance management decisions. Joyner does not make provider removal or termination decisions based on a single rating event without additional context and review. Member feedback is handled confidentially — Joyner does not disclose the identity of a rating member to the service provider except where necessary to investigate a specific complaint. By submitting a rating or feedback, you represent that it reflects your genuine experience with the specific service call and complies with Joyner's Feedback Policy.
35. Accessibility
Joyner is committed to making Autow membership services accessible to all members, including those with disabilities. Members who require accessibility accommodations in connection with requesting or receiving roadside assistance — including members who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, or who have mobility impairments that affect how they interact with service providers — should contact accessibility@myjoyner.com or visit the Joyner Accessibility Statement for information about available accommodations. Joyner will make reasonable accommodations consistent with applicable law.
36. Language Access
Joyner provides language access services to members who are not fluent in English through Language Line Solutions, enabling Joyner to assist members in any language when they call in for roadside assistance or member support. If you require assistance in a language other than English:
- When calling Joyner dispatch or member support, inform the representative of your preferred language and a Language Line interpreter will be connected to the call
- If a service provider arrives at your location and you and the provider are unable to communicate directly due to a language barrier, call Joyner dispatch and Joyner will connect a Language Line interpreter to facilitate communication between you and the service provider
- Language access services are available at no additional charge to members
37. Minors in Vehicle
When a minor (an individual under 18 years of age) is present in a vehicle at the time of a breakdown or during a roadside assistance service call, the following standards apply consistent with motor club industry best practices:
- The member or another responsible adult must remain with any minor present at the breakdown scene at all times until the service is complete or alternative safe transportation is arranged
- Joyner's service providers are trained to prioritize the safety and comfort of minors present at a breakdown scene and to minimize the time minors spend in potentially hazardous roadside environments
- If a minor is present and the breakdown occurs in a location that poses an immediate safety risk (e.g., on a highway, in extreme weather), the member should call 911 for law enforcement or emergency assistance in addition to contacting Joyner dispatch
- Service providers will not transport minors in their service vehicles under any circumstances — minors must remain with the member or another responsible adult
- Joyner's service providers are prohibited from photographing, recording, or interacting with minors beyond what is necessary to safely complete the dispatched service
